William A.
Rezendes
Jan 24, 1942 — Dec 23, 2023
SWANSEA – William (Billy) A. Rezendes, age 81, of Swansea, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Mary (Silvia Jacome) Rezendes and brothers Richard and Everett Rezendes. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lenora (Cabral) Rezendes. William grew up working on his parents' farm in Swansea, and farming was his passion. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and loyal employee for over 50 years at L&S Concrete and Moniz Concrete Foundations, both of New Bedford. Billy was a master tinkerer and repairman. There wasn't much that he couldn't fix and if he couldn't fix it, in his opinion, it wasn't worth keeping. He was equally good at making people laugh as he was at turning a wrench. Billy had a wicked sense of humor, silly mannerisms, famous one-liners, and facial expressions that would make people, including himself, belly laugh. Despite his prowess as a farmer, mechanic, and comedian, the roles that he was most proud of were that of Husband, Dad, Poppa, and UB (Uncle Billy).
He was loved and cherished by many people including his daughters Christine A. Clarke of Littleton, NH and Charlene A. Clark (husband Chandler) of Hampton, VA, sister Marlene Bombardier of Warren, RI and grandchildren Benjamin and Matthew Clarke (wife Ashley) of Littleton, NH; as well as nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss him greatly.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, December 29th here at 9 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Dominic's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on Thursday, December 28th from 4-7 P.M.
