With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Zelia Moniz of Fall River, who passed away on June 19, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Galdino d'Almeida Moniz, and born in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores, daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Pavao) Soares. Zelia was a parishioner at St. Michael's Church. She enjoyed sewing, especially embroidery, as well as traveling, cooking and baking. But most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Ana Moniz of Fall River, Rui Moniz of Fall River, Grace Farias (spouse Nero) of Fall River, Mario Moniz (spouse Pamela) of Swansea and Carmen Botelho (spouse William) of Fall River; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren as well as a few nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Edgardo Soares.

A visitation for Zelia will be held on Friday morning, June 24 ^th from 8-10 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow in St. Michael's Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
